Reliving bike trips whilst sat at my desk....
The 1100 I have arranged to buy had been sat up for a year or so. The battery was so flat it only existed in two of the three dimensions, so the ABS was just there for show. Previuously, on my 1150, an ABS problem was down to the knackered battery too and replacing the battery sorted the problem. However, the new battery on the 1100 hasn't made a blind bit of difference.

What is the solution?

Check sensor gap?
Reprogramme?
Rip out and insert in bin?
Avoid using brakes?

The 1100 ABS lights on start up are more likely to keep flashing than the 1150.
BMW did a mod on the 1150
There has been some posts in the past that suggest that once the ignition is switched on it is best to give it a few seconds before pressing the start button.
Try this.
If you are still having problems do the ABS reset.
This is as far as I have had to go so unless someone else comes along

Firstly,check it`s actually got ABS fitted :D :D :augie

Check the ABS rings are clean...no cack between the teeth.

Check the sensor gap.

Check the sensor cable isn`t damaged.

Ensure battery is FULLY CHARGED.

Switch on and wait a few seconds.

Start up and let the engine run for a few seconds before pulling away.

If the ABS doesn`t reset then, ride a mile or so then stop and switch off.

On restarting,it should all be hunky dorey.
