Have I found a bargain?

I'm looking for a GPS system to use between my car and bike. During a trip into town this morning one of the department stores has Garmin GPS's on offer.

They have the Quest and the Street Pilot 2620 1/2 price both for 380 chf which at today's exchange rate is a shade over £150!!

Is this an offer not to be missed or am I looking at the wrong units?? Any advice please.

The weakness of the 2620 is that it uses a microdrive. It's not too good for a bike.

Yep, Microdrives are no good on GS Handlebars...

They did two versions of Quest so not sure which one that is...

Good luck,

Mike

The best I could figure out from the sales ticket with my lack of German was that it had a 2.2GB internal memory.

A european spec Quest 1 comes with 243Mb of fixed memory.

In your shoes I'd go for the Quest 1 and not the 2620.

I'll nip back into town tomorrow and see which model Quest it is, I think if it is the Quest 2 then it is a good price.

I got a brand new (spanish version) quest 1 off of ebay for £140 including postage last August so £150 from a shop sounds like a good price to me, don't know if ebay has any other quest bargains going. Quest 2 gets slated as being too slow, most people seem to prefer the quest one.

Can't comment on the 2620.

Does anyone know what the 2620 used to sell for before it was discontinued?
