I had a little experiment the other day. If you forget to shut an RT pannier properly, what happens when you go round a bend and the lid is open? The answer is that it makes the handling very exciting as the lid does not close but lifts the rear. It also has the side effect of sandpapering a large chunk of paintwork down to the plastic. Which brings me neatly to my question.

Where can I get some paint to touch it up? It doesn’t merit a new lid at over £200. Properly touched up it won’t look too bad but it needs an aerosol, etc. The problem is that BM have stopped supplying any touch up or aerosol paint. I have tried Halfords and a specialist paint shop; neither of which can mix the relevant colour (Piedmont Red Code: 911 or 912 depending on who you speak to).

I have spoken to RS Motorbike Paint who were very helpful but could only supply in a large quantity at £86.

Anybody got any ideas where I could source the paint at a reasonable cost?
