Just had my gearbox & clutch reconditioned by Mick. Well worth a visit to his man's gagage as you know the moment you walk in there he is as pasionate about BMW's as we are.

The whole lot cost me £570 and not bad considering nothing less than a £1000 at any BMW dealer. He specialises in the old and new versions whether it is a K or R series. Give him a call on 0116 241 9316 if you want a price on service, rebuilt or anything else.

Based in Scraptoft, Leicester

Cheers

........location sounds dodgy! Just get this image of a guy in top hat, tails, white scarf stood in a scrap yard:D

Paul,
Strangely enough not, neatest workshop I have been in a while. If you look at the classic rebuilts he owns you will now your'e at the right place.

Jetjock,
Yeah mate think I was driving him crazy to get the bike back. He phoned Saturday morning and said it will be ready in 2 hours which was my call to get up there straight away. He even put off his Saturday classic meet to finish my bike. Already did about 350 miles on it and seems to be running very smooth.

Cheers

£570...that was a bit steep wasn't it. Do you know why it was so much? I thought you were going to be paying around the £350 mark.

I saw your bike last Saturday when I was round there, Mick was just getting ready to start it. Nice bloke isn't he?

Hi Rob,

It was the following
Gearbox Bearings
Input shaft damper spring(replaced on my request)
Oil seals
New bolts etc
Clutch Plate
Diaphram Spring

And then he machined me some proper spacers for the Hepco Becker crash bars as the ones they supply is way to short.

Was a bit steep but beggars can't be choosers ya know! Still cheaper than the Agents.
