Left hand side indicators on all the time

Right, Septic is out on his jaunt around sunny scotland and has ran into a problem with his 1150GS (2000 model)..
Started with his left hand indicators flashing twice as fast as his right hand indicators and now they are stuck on permenantly.

Spoke briefly with him on the phone.. to me sounded like a short of some kind/possibley the relay going ga ga..

Anyone had this before? he is up in scoty-land for a nother week.. so could do with fixing this soon..

Pull the relay out and use his hands?

at the goc meet ,steptoe noticed the rt hand indicators permanently on,on joannes f650cs scarver
eventulay found wiring harness had rubbed through to cooper wire on the frame.

so guess it is ashort somewhere?
