Garmin sofware question from a GPS virgin

I picked up my bike from a forum member yesterday complete with Garmin 2610 GPS from Sheffield and it got me back home to the south coast without any drama.
I've never had GPS before so the seller loaded my route into the machine and off I want.
It came without software and the USB port socket is a bit loose and partly pulls out when I take the cable out. So I need to get the sofware with a code(?) so the seller told me but don't know what I'm looking for. I had a look on the Garmin site and need to know if this is what I need?

I also saw this card reader thingy which I thought might be better than potentially screwing it up my pulling out the USB socket next time I try it?

http://www8.garmin.com/cartography/mapSource/citynavEuro.jsp is what you want, you get it from garmin for a small fee, but then when you get it you will need to pay to unlock it.

Make sure you don't get the NT version as that will not work on the 2610

You are not a million miles from Garmin UK in Romsey - if you could find time to ride there during office hours I suspect the above problem might well be resolved on the spot - Garmin have a well deserved reputation for excellent customer service
