1150 to X-challenge ?

I've got an 1150GS at the moment, but fancy a change. I really like the look of an X-challenge. I use the bike everyday for a 40-50 mile commute of A roads, m-ways and back roads, and fancy doing a bit of off roading too, so the X-challenge seems like it would be up to the job. The GS does the commute with ease, but has anyone else got day to day experience of the X they could share ?

With a range of about 100 miles you're going to have pleanty of conversations with the petrol pump people

Pity they couldn't have offered bigger tanks in the options list

I had a 650 Dakar before my XC which was way more comfortable to ride on the road but felt much more fragile (and heavy) on the dirt.

Riding the XC on the road I find that I can only do about an hour max at a time coz the seat is so hard and with no screen its a bit unpleasant on the dual carriageway.

but ... get it up a green lane and I find it pretty much spot on.

Cycling shorts!

Thats the best solution Ive found for the XCs hard seat. As they have a foam pad which makes a days trail riding pain free!
