I've never ridden in the Picos, but looks like this years trip will be Picos, Pyrenees and back home through France.

Can anyone tell me the "must do" roads in the Picos, please? Or suggest any websites that give more details?

(I tend to rely on Michelin maps and go for the green-lined roads, but don't want to miss anything.)

Thanks.

You definately have to go up the road from Potes to the cable car at Punte-something-or-other. Its fantastic, Great view from the top of the cable car too. One of the guys who used to come on here (moutachioed Herbery aka Dave Felche) took his 1150 up to the top so there must be tracks.........

Its a lovely area and I will go back one day but Polands calling:augie

Have fun and take Camera and large pannier for the Rioja:rolleyes:

A map of some of the best roads in the Picos. Been over them all and more besides, several times. Do you want some Hotel info or are you camping ?. Buy a local map of the Picos area when there for really detailed roads. The track mentioned in a previous post from Sortes to the top of Fuente De is illegal to use. The gravel track from Espinama to Sortes is legal.

Mountain biked that one a few years back, ab fab. Apart from the 4 hr climb.

Thanks for the info, keep it coming!

Jaws, we're intending to use hotels so if you have any information or recommendations, that would be great.

Obviously I'm an off-road riding god and with my trusty 1200GS could easily cope with anything thrown our way in a frenzy of rooster-tails. :augie The others are on normal road bikes, so gravel tracks will probably be off-limits.
