I had already started to make a whole new bash plate for the XChallenge when
it occured to me to modify the existing one guard.

What I did was cut a piece of cardboard the right shape, cut that out of 3mm
aluminium, and beat the livin' daylights out of it with a plastic mallet.

The Water Pump getting a smack from a rock was the biggest worry, but since
the original guard is still behind, there's a double skin protecting the pump.

The hammer marks are there to give it the rugged look. :augie

:D

I've noticed that the sump plug hangs fairly low (level with sump guard ) on 650Xs. Has this been an issue yet with any that ride off road?

Funnily enough TouraTwat do a 'slimline' version. Never had any problems with the original one but I've fitted one, just in case ;)

i thought for a minute you wanted me or Aidan to
start hammering:augie
And what are ye waiting for, we can let productivity drop, can we. (It's so hard
to get good help these days :augie )

No bother with it yet, but if you look at the bottom pic you'll see where I gave
the guard a thump, sump plug isn't stickin' out now.

Well impressed with mine too, all it needs is a big top-box and it'll be perfect. :thumb2
