Hi, Am proud owner of a drz400sm (07). The sticky dunlops that are on there at the moment are going to need replacing, but - can I put knoblies on the supermoto excel rims? Or does anyone here have a set of off-road wheels that I could stick on for laning?

Cheers

Mike

The knobbliest tyres you'll get for SM rims are Pirelli corsas (kind of a road legal racing wet) or avon distanzias - neither inspire confidence off road and the 17" front wheel makes trail riding a nightmare (I tried this on my MZ baggy) There is a thread on www.thumpertalk.com on fitting trail wheels to a DRZ SM. The main hurdle is that you cant change the disc so you end up with a 290mm (or whatever) disc on a trail bike which is a bit fierce.
