The real riding starts here
Motorcyclists can enjoy the freedom of riding on two wheels by experiencing an event from the 2004 World of BMW programme.
Currently available from World of BMW and Motorrad dealerships, the 68-page, 2004 Activity Brochure includes details of BMW’s Road Skills and Off-Road Skills courses, an extended programme of Continental tours, plus a number of new global adventures.
In 2004 there are 20 dates scheduled for BMW’s popular two-day Off-Road Skills course held in South Wales. Motorcyclists are taught to ride off-road under the expert guidance of BMW’s team of instructors, including Dakar riders Simon Pavey and Nick Plumb. Customers use either a F650 GS or F650 GS Dakar to learn on and begin by tackling the basics and then moving onto riding more challenging terrain. A two-day level two course and a one-day Brecon Beacons off-road adventure are also available for more experienced riders.
The extremely popular World of BMW touring programme has expanded and now includes trips into Eastern Europe and the Balkan states, as well as almost every country in Western Europe and much of Scandinavia. In total, there are six short tours of up to nine days, and 14 longer tours.
Riders keen to expand their horizons beyond the cosy familiarity of Europe have not been ignored either. In conjunction with local specialists, World of BMW has organised tours to New Zealand, Arizona, Oman and South Africa – the latter being an off-road adventure that precludes pillion passengers.
