Fitting a accsessory plug to charge my tomtom, where does the red go into the plug, centre pin or side
charge?

Red is usually the live feed (the + on the battery)
The live feed needs to go to the center of both the plug and the socket.
It's worth checking both plug and socket correspond. cos it ain't going to work if there not both in the same place
