Hi,
SWMBO's 2004 F650GS is losing oil from the pressure switch. I have spent all day cleaning the bike and checking. I am reasonably sure. The warning light comes on once the oil starts to flow.

I checked with Battersea BMW. They reckon a new switch is £35  On Motorworks it is under £10. When I asked the spares bloke said they had changed the design and the new one needs an extra lead and connector. Hence the high price. Has anyone else had this? Is it worth going with the more expensive switch or staying with the cheap and cheerfully one.

Opinions welcome. :aidan

Regards,

Path.

I call bull shit! take the part to a car parts shop. They do them for around a fiver.

I bought the Motorworks one and it's been OK - so far. £25 for a piece of wire and a bullet connector seemed a bit pricey.

I'm off to motorcrap

THanks for the comments. I agree that the BMW option is overpriced. I will try my local motor factors first. :thumb2

I'll let you know if it works out.

Rgards,

Path.
