Hey up
Just got back from the Pyrennees The wife and I stopped at a wonderful place about halfway from Calais to the mountains I would think it a very suitable distance to travel in the day - Especially if you have the wife/lady on the back - The little village is called Bussiere-Poitevine There are a few pubs and shops in the place, but its quite - a good stopover
The Chambes de hotes place is called Chez 53 they have safe parking for bikes and 3 very comfortable rooms to rent
Rob and Kay ( from darn sarf ) are the complete hosts and will prepare dinner for you if requested
It was the best food and the best rooms at the best price in our 14 day trip
( My wifes words ) I agree of course :thumb
This is the second time I have used the place
I would recommend you dovisit it too
I will not be getting owt for this - I am doing it as I recon they deserve it !!!
We went to Oradour sur glane from there on a easy day off - it was a nice 50 miles round trip with nice country roads
To find the place is easy its just off the 147 south of Poitiers and 15 mile north of Limoges

Have a nice trip :bounce1

Thank you for the tip :thumb

In the same spirit, another place that comes to mind is:

LE CYGNE
2, rue du Cingle.
24260 LE BUGUE

I stayed there about five years ago. It was well worth a stop-over then. I hope it is still.

A Logis de France hotel.
