after coming home from exter today, i noticed that my brake light was on, what i need to know is there a switch that is easy to get at or why could this be, no matter if you touch the brake will it change, haven't had a good look as dark and frezing when i got back about an hour ago, just hope not an expensive problem as bike will have to go as haven't got much money to spare at moment.

any help will be really helpful and i will be grateful.

thanks.

Front switch is a micro switch IIRC. These can seize and a good squirt of wd40 frees them up usually. Rear brake switch is also a micro switch I think, same applies.

Get your WD out and get squirting, costs nothing, but usually sorts it :thumb

Had a similar problem with SWMBOs 650 single after some light off-roading and associated drops..:augie

We traced it to the back brake pedal, which has a small flange on the inside edge which actuates the brake light switch. When the bike was dropped the flange bent downwards, so that in effect the light switch was always in the "on" position.

A quick removal of the lever and a bit of hammering and all was well again.

So if you have dropped the bike (even at a standstill) i might be worth checking this out..
