To raise funds for this valuable charity, FreeWheelers EVS, I am going to ride my motorbike from John O'Groats to Land's End on a sponsored motorcycle ride with my wife Chris as pillion and a colleague from the charity Alan Paice. Alan will be riding his own bike.
Freewheelers provide an emergency out of hours courier service on motorbikes which is completely free to the NHS. Riders attend non urgent and urgent needs in all winds and weathers on motorcycles provided by the charity. So a huge amount of money is needed every year to keep this service going. All riders, who are all highly experienced and Advanced motorcyclists give their time for free.
As riders we all have our own reasons for doing this and most have had a close friend or member of their family that needed the NHS and this is our way of putting something back.
All funds raised (100%) will be donated to the FreeWheelers as the 3 of us will be paying for our own expenses for the trip.
Full details and dates will follow and we are planning to complete this ride during April 2009.
