... but does anyone have access to and expertise with an industrial sewing machine ? I've got a length of webbing and would like some loops made of it. Nothing fancy required but it is fairly tough stuff and me Mum's old singer might complain
If it actually is mums old Singer then you will probably be all right, SWMBO has sewn quite a lot of webbing on a normal domestic sewing machine, the worst thing seems to be any kind of leatherette fabric, woven stuff generally sews fine, if it does struggle spray a little WD40 or similar onto the needle/thread.
Try a sailmaker / repairer. They use industrial sewing machines etc.
A good repairer I use for my windsurf boards and sails is BlueChip on 020 87150040, and look at this web page http://www.windsurfer.co.uk/menurepairs.htm for a pic of his machine and workbench. They are at 94 Church Hill Road, Cheam, Surrey, SM3 8LJ. If its windy, he'll be out windsurfing !
