How to open maps in Mapsource?

Hello all,

May be a silly question but having problem opening maps in my mapsource.

I don't use mapsource and GPS since nearly one year. I have some maps under "my maps" file. Maps are in .img format. When I try to open them at mapsource it fails.

Can someone explain where I do wrong?

When I try to open/upload a map to mapsource, I make file type .allfiles
When I look other choices I see: .gdp, .mps, .gpx, .loc But my maps are .img.

You could try to find an .img file that's somewhere saved on your hard drive. Right click it and in the drop down box there'll be an option to open with, make sure that mapsource is still selected. If not browse to it and select it, it should then open.

If not you may have to re-install mapsource again.

Also make sure you go to garmins web site and make sure you are running the latest version of mapsource. If you've not used it in a year they'll have been a few updates and bug fixes since then.

you don't "open" maps in mapsource. it kinda already nows you are there. in latest version of mapsource you should find an option somewhere in the menus to change map. if you are using a dodgy map you've downloaded off the net it map be that the map was a for an older version and so it'll never show up.
