Garmin & TomTom just got screwed by Google!!

As long as you're near a wifi or mobile mast since a huge amount of features use it. Neither are free and roaming costs for net use are a fortune.

Apple and Windows Mobile requires a fecking huge license fee - and why would they build for that anyway when they have built a competing operating system, not that Apple or M$ would let them.

I'll continue to stay very much clear of all things Google.

I had Orange maps on my smartphone. Have to be within mobile coverage as if you go off route it needs to talk to the server to get you a new route :eek Costs IIRC about £7 a month plus I guess the data package charges. Or buy Garmin xt mobile for £30 and no faff. Works in the Falklands and Ascension Isles too
