Already searched and seen a couple of posts on similar lines, but all from 5 years+ ago. There may have been a miracle breakthrough since :augie :clap

Just bought above bike :D :clap Been VERY well looked after. Seller mentioned he'd put cleaner on wheels, got interrupted by neighbour, hence left cleaner on longer than intended :blast This was some time ago. He can't remember exactly what fluid he was using at the time.

See piccies - they make it look worse than it is "in the metal", but it's there nonetheless. Anyone had a similar problem and able to suggest miracle product for the removal thereof ?

I got that off with wire wool and WD40, I now dilute the wonder wheels 50% with water.

Solvol Autosol

Your wheels are anodised, the wonder wheels has eaten into it. Solvol should skim the top off it but if you go to far you will be down to the bare metal.

wonder wheels specifically says not for use on non lacered alloy. muc off and the like will have the same effect if left long enough. made the same mistake once.

It will take more time than you have patience to remove that..............believe me:D

It was easier to buy a better wheel:blast

whoever did that - needs shooting.

warms sudsey water is all the anodised wheels need.

to be honest, I would be looking to replace em. and offset the cost by flogging the ruined set to some deranged off roader. (of which this site has more than a few)

you know.. the type who think 'mud colour' is fastest. :thumb

my wheels were pretty shagged out

so , had them powder coated in graphite , spokes and hubs included for £20 a wheel .. and i'm happy with them . 8000 mls on and off road and no cracks round spokes etc .. highly recommended :thumb2:thumb2

Kirk.
I like the look of them and wasn't aware you could get away with coating them assembled. Got any more pics?
