Dealer Problem?

Just bought a new GS1200SE. Thought I'd get the dealer to wire in my 660. They refused to do this as (they claimed) there had been several problems with the unit frying the bikes electrics. They showed me another bike they had where that had happened.

Anyone else had this problem?

Dealer was Alan Jefferies in Shipley - not usually ones for scare-mongering.

When say wire in do you mean plug in ?
 
I really don't see how this can happen. It draws what, an amp or 2 from a switched ot permanant live? If it had an internal power source perhaps, but the ickle li-ion battery?

Had a 660 on my GSA for 9k miles now. Fitted it myself. No problems.:thumb2 Mate also has one on his 07 GS, also no problems.:thumb2

(wired to front accessories socket below the headlight)
 
Zumo wiring

Over on this side of the pond I've heard the Zumo killed a battery or two. Keeps the CANBUS turned on?
