Hi Chaps,
my 450EXC seems to be slowly leaking oil from the gear change spindle where it penetrates the crankcase.

Is this a common fault (and an easy fix) ??:nenau

hi m8 i dont know of them leaking from the gear selector bit they do leak from the output shaft and that is an easy fix.......

Thanks, it might well be the front sprocket output shaft seal. I was under the impression that you had to split the cases to change the shaft seal ????

no dead easy just take the sprocket and chain off and pull off the oil sleave and then the rubber seal and o ring , they do wear out but it oils the chain well:)

Changed the front sprocket seal, sleeve and O ring.

Cost £17.40 and the leak is fixed.

Took me about 20 minutes, thanks for the suggestion.:thumb2
