Took my daughter and her fiancee sledding up a local mountain track.
Got the van up as far as it would go and decided to turn.
Made a miscalculation (stupid mistake) and got the rear wheels ever so gently over a ditch.
The rear of the van was beached and the road narrow & slippery.
I am a member of the local mountain rescue crew.
One of our Land Rovers has a winch and hauled the van out.
As they say in Kerry what goes around comes around - the time invested in rescue came home for me today but that is not why I joined.
No damage to van and some serious sledding done.
2010 shaping up well so far except for bogging the van which was a very small minus.
Off to meet the new in laws tonight.
