I followed a couple of the Met's (or possibly City Plod, it was on City Road) finest on Wednesday last week and they were on nice, new, specially adapted F650s.

They looked like they might have started as F650GS under the cosmetics but it was hard to tell.

Is this a new innovation or have I missed something somewhere?
 
We saw lots of 'special' 650's being built on the production line at Spandau last week.......there are apparently all sorts of different specs they can come with from higher/harder suspension, full comms wiring system and obviously blues and twos to local spec......haven't seen the London ones yet though...but seems like an ideal bike for there......nippy, tough and reliable.......
 
Yep. seen them

Saw 2 metropolitan police bikes parked up with some gobby yoofs on scooters yesterday on Holloway Road, looked like they where getting some insurance / tax and basic driving technique lessons.!!

Amsterdam police use them in the narrow streets. One, I noticed, was ridden by an attractive, long blonde-haired lady constable that looked fantastic in leather trouser. Hmmm, I think I shall consider that one in much more detail later.


Say, how about an Attractive Police Woman thread, or do we have to go to more specialist web sites for that service.
 
interesting fact

I have seen several attractive police people of a female disposition but the only attractive female traffic warden I've ever seen was on her way into a pub to take all of her clothes off...
 
I've also seen the Spanish Police using them in the North of the country.

I wish I'd had a camera with me in Madrid last week, since the poor b@st8rds there have C1's! Sorry, but they just look ridiculous getting off (out?) of those with their full kit and guns.
 
That's it, i'm painting my Paniers black, just like those. and then with some black reflective decals. I like it!

apparantly the bill hate them. don't know why maybe they just don't have as much street cred as the pandas do.

I was about to say 'well wouldn't you if the choice was a PAn or an RT against an F650 but I thought again........they may not quite have the macho image but for the purpose i'd have thought the 650's would be absolutely perfick.......

What's your source for the 'apparantly the bill hate them' wernski???
