off to Europe later this year with the bride and am looking to put a decent sized luggage rack on the back to carry our gear.
I have seen the Touratech extension plate but cant find any other retro fit racks. before I start drilling and welding I wondered if anyone has sorted this issue.
any home made ideas welcome

best wishes

Paul

Erm.....I wouldn't put too much weight too far back and too high. You run the risk of damaging the subframe and ruining the handling. Standard-sized luggage rack/top box is more than enough.

Panniers are the way forward.

I imitated the general shape of the TT one in 6mm polycarbonate, then bent the back up using a hot air gun, its been on the bike a couple of years now with no trouble.
