Had to take the swing arm off my 1150 to replace gear/neutral switch.
The left hand thread (24mm) came out with the pin & is ruined.
Any suggestions for repair that don't include replacing the gear box rear case?
Thanks

Get it helicoiled but doubt if it can be done in situ as it's so big. dunno what else to suggest I assume you dident heat up the case and melt any locktite on the threads.

Yes used the heat as the book says, one side came as it should but this one felt as if it was welded.

I know it's too late now, but it might save someone else - you don't have to remove the swingarm on the 1150 to replace the gear indicator/neutral switch. :augie

Wish I knew, don't see how.

No nuts or bolts hold it place - A spring bar holds the switch in place. Accessable from underneth with long nose pliars.

To replace, squeeze the springbar tabs together, and hold together with a small cable tie, re-insert into gearbox, then snip cable tie.
