Damaged Screen on my new 600

OK so on Monday night i transported my 600 in a bag with some other kit and when I got it out I found that the screen was scratched... well not the screen but the plastic cover than actually is fitted over the TFT screen - so my question is can this be removed and replaced?

Has anyone else had this problem, can I cut if off the screen completely and then fit a plastic screen protector over the TFT - seems to me the plastic is easily damaged which causes all sorts of reflections when in use... or is it just me?

I had this problem with my Street Pilot 2720. Put it in a pocket with a bunch of keys. I phoned Garmin who said send it back and we will let you know how much to fix it. A few days later a brand new 2720 arrived by courier with a free of charge invoice.

Also they have just replaced my out of warranty 660 FOC because the on/off switch became sticky.

It's worth giving them a ring and asking.
