Electical Advice Needed

I know its not a G/S but I need some advice re my R80ST. I've decided to ditch the instruments and huge and heavy rubber binnacle assembly and use a digital speedo and some warning lights. I'm planning to make the bike into a sort of stripped down street trail thing...
I know that I certainly need a charge warning light just to make the circuit work. My question is that on an ST this light resides in the tacho-which is connected via a multipin plug into a cicuit board. If I do away with the tacho, how do I wire in a chrge light?

One side of the lamp oes to th ebattery via the kill switch and ignition switch and a fuse.
The other side goes to the voltage regulator and the recitifer diodes.

Thanks. I can read the wiring diagram in the Clymer manual that I have! My question was more about the role (if any) of the circuit board with all its little electronic components in the charging circuit/light arrangement. I was not sure if it was a simple matter of wiring a light in-which I can do.
