crankshaft oil seal ?

changing the crankshaft oil seal on my 1996 R1100RT

the old one looks like a normal seal

new one from motobins is the funny skimpy thin thing that looks more like a dust cover.

is this a mod ? no one lists the 'old' type that I have.

and what is the inner seal they sell ? do I need that as well ?

dont want to put it all back together and have another leak

looks like it is a modified seal

some good stuff on advrider

will give it a go but prefer the look of the original (will be ordering one of those for next time)

Original lasted for 15 years so cant be that bad
