About 18mnt's ago I bought an old 650 funduro and had a few cracking days doing a bit of off roading and green laning.
Then I needed to have a bypass graft and was told no off roading for at least a year,Joanne made me promise that it would be 18mnt's.

Anyway I've now got the green light and am looking for a bike.

I'm looking for something that I can use day to day, travel at least 100mls on the road in comfort,is good fun on B roads and has the capability to tackle green lanes and all but the most demanding trails.

I would like to stick with BMW as it keeps my multi bike insurance down.

My own shortlist is,

F650gs single,

F650 dakar (although I've only a 29" inside leg)

G650 X country (cannot touch the floor on an X challenge)

The new G650gs which is my favourite at the moment.

I'm not that knowledgeable about this type of bike so any advice, recommendation or constructive criticism is welcomed.

It has to be a Black G650 XCountry (2007 model only) - all the advantages of the the rest (motor), with none of the downsides (weight)

60% of a new G650GS too:thumb2

Fit a screen (BMW or Wunderlich) to a XCountry and you're away, plus more or less the front suspension of the XChallenge

If I were you, that's what I would be buying:thumb

I am a little biased to single pot bikes........
The X-country takes some beating, though 19" front wheel takes some of the shine off it.
