Hi all

Virgin post so apologies if i waffle..

Anyone got any idea where i can get a converter (or even a complete lead) so i can charge my Zumo 220 from the front charge lead on my 1200GS?

My local BMW places keep trying to sell me a BMW Garmin lead, which isn't suitable but don't seem to know that i there are other types of GPS out there (talk about blinkered vision....)

Appreciate any help you guys can offer me.
Regards

I think you're going to have to make one up yourself. You could

1. connect the Garmin wiring harness directly to the battery
2. buy the BMW lead for their GPS socket and modify it to fit the Garmin wiring harness (only two wires are needed)
3. fit a waterproof USB charging socket and use a standard USB lead from this to the Zumo.

I've got the 220 fitted to a Duc Multistrada but Ducati thoughtfully provide the matching connector for their GPS power socket...

Buy one of these excellent products - hardwire it to your battery (with in line fuse) - they take just a couple of mA when not in use.

Then buy a USB-to-Mini USB lead (a pound or so off eBay).

Job's a good 'un.

You can use the USB to charge your phone too.
