Left hand indicators flash (Too) fast

Whilst out riding this weekend I turned on my LHS indicator. It started to blink twice as fast as normal.
RHS indicator absolutely normal. Hazards working normally.

Is it the relay? Checked the price of these. £69 fricking quid for a replacement!

Not done any work on the bike recently that would upset any electrics.

I'm at a loss and will need to sort out the problem ASAP as it is due an MOT in 3 weeks.

Many thanks for any suggestions/help.

If it is the relay, anyone breaking a 2003 1150? Pretty please

On old cars it meant one of the indicator bulbs had blown.

Just been out to the garage. I am so fricking embarrassed. Never thought of looking backwards just kept looking at the little bugger at the front.

Nobody else knows...

It's not too bad having to wait eight years for an indicator lamp to blow and then work out what's gone wrong. :blast

Update: Swapped bulbs, not that. So had a jiggle of wires. Turns out it's a loose wire within the indicator loom where it goes through the plastic mount for the rear light. Less embarrassed now but maybe I'll jiggle next time before posting :augie
