I have a 2001 GS. I would like to bleed the brakes (First time I have ever done this sort of thing). I have read on the net that if you have a Servo it cause all sorts of problems when bleeding.

My bike has ABS. Currently switched off. (I don't know how to turn it back on). How do I find out if I have a Servo. There are a few boxes under the tank with hydraulic pipes goingg in and out. Is that the Servo?

All help appreciated.

If it's a 2001 model it will not be servo abs as bmw did not start putting it on until late 2002.

Cheers. I didn't think it was but the more I read on various web sites the more confused I became.

I have now found out that one of the boxes under the tank is a pressure modulator which requires bleeding first.

My nipples are all rusty so got to source some new ones first.

Glad you asked this question cos i was wondering the same about my 2001 gs!
