Engine Noise

Hi

I know describing a noise is difficult to interpret but here goes, my 1100 runs faultlessly ( touch wood ) however recently I have been aware of a rattle on start up.
The noise seems to come from the front of the engine and i am guessing that it is clutch related if I pull the clutch lever in and then release it the noise goes away and usually does not return.
Any idea's !!, as the bike still runs well I am just monitoring the situation at the moment but it would be nice to know what I could be facing. Bike has now covered 57000 miles and is the most reliable bike I have owned.

probably easily cured with a later timing chain tensioner on the nearside pot
