Hi there UK "Twin Valve" GSers ! You are invited to join us to the GS-AIRHEADS SUMMER TENTING WEEKEND on 11 and 12 August 2012 (Saturday/Sunday) :thumb. It will be an INTERNATIONAL 2V GS gathering with Bikers from Benelux, UK, Germany and France. But please note that only 2V GS Bikes are allowed :clap! This second GS-AIRHEADS Camping, BBQ and Beer Weekend is organised in Opwijk (near Brussels), Belgium on private grasslands and woodlands. The program will comprise :
Saturday 11 August 2012:
a GS-Gymkana (a kind of Trail event on 20 x 20 meters were you can show your skills in 1st Gear...:D) and a local GS off--road ride :blast. In the evening there will be big BBQ with a truckload of Beers :beerjug:, Camping Fire, 60/70ties Music, etc...:JB
Sunday 12 August 2012:
English Style Breakfast on the Camping Ground followed by a GS-Ride "Pays des Collines"
This is an International 2V-GS gathering supported by the Event organiser of BMW Motorrad Belgium, as well as by Management Members of BMW Motorrad Belgium and some BMW Motorrad Dealers. Camping possibility from 10 to 13 August 2012.Camping facilities, with toilets are Free of Charge. For the BBQ and Sunday morning Breakfast, each participant will be required to pay a small sum. Beers and other Drinks are available at low prices . We could organise a simple Diner for those arriving friday evening and those staying sunday evening. Alternatively "Belgium Frites" shops are within 1 mile reach.
This is an organisation of GS-AIRHEADS , one of the few 2V GS Biker Clubs In Europe, and fast growing, supported by 2V UK GS die-hards.
Please visit our site: www.gs-airheads.be

:robFor practical reasons we would suggest those coming from UK, to liaise, and make the channel crossing in group on Friday. Either to Zeebrugge or Calais. We could organise a GS-Airhead Member as Road-Captain to guide you in to the camping ground. From Zeebrugge its 60 Miles, from Calais its 115 Miles.

Remember guys, this will be an International 2V GS Gathering that will be repeated every year. Belgium does not have lots to offer, but Food and Beer here is quite good ! So fancy a very Special Weekend and meet lots of similar minded 2V GS Bikers in the homeland of GASTON RAHIER, this will be your Summer do! You may bring a friend, there is plenty of space for tents. Look forward hearing from you.
Note: Sycomoto promised to come and bring "Camille" , The 1984 PENTHOUSE Paris Dakar Machine to this Tenting do! So guys escort Syco in will you ?

Sounds GREAT :JB:JB:clap

BUT !! PLEASE, no road captains :blast

Do a search on here,
I can only think HD or Goldwing twats in Hi Viz and directing traffic against the red lights, you just feel like slapping them :pullface

Actually, it will be 2V-GS Road Captain with Muddy tires to guide you in, to stop you driving on the wrong side of the road, and to guide you in sober as there are about 300 cafes on the road to the Tenting Ground, so mate we would like to look after you...To put your mind at rest, there will be no HD or other Roadtrucks at the GS-Airhead Tenting do. Though we might take an HD to fire up the Campfire.

I would very much like to be attending the Rally
The Belgium Gsers are well known for the quality of their doo's
I may stay around and make a week of it with a jaunt around some of the great roads in the Ardenne area a little further south - Never been to Waterloo either = Whats there please ???
Last Frittery/chippy I went in had 27 different Mayo's to have with yer chips / Frikerdellen = Frikerdel
I was also to told by a famous GSer over there that French fries are indeed a Belgium "invention" and not french at all :rob

Heres Hoping :bounce1

Well GS-Airheads will make this an unforgettable event, but different then the other Rallies you did, the Quality will be unequalled, as we have Olly (GS-Airheads Member) the Event Manager of BMW Motorrad Belgium supporting this event. In Waterloo my friend, Napoleon was beaten otherwise you would have speaken French in UK ...there is a big Lion in Waterloo, and some very interesting museums and some nice Tavernas where you should try the Trappist beers ! Only 27 mayo's ? Thats not much. Frikandellen you mean, meatty Balls...nice. Yes Sir French Fries are a Belgium invention, thats why there are more Frittes Shops then civilians here ! Look forward to have you here.

Heres a great picture of me at the last Belgium off tarmac rideout

No Not the guy stuck in the field

I was trailing behind the KTM of my good mate Archie
And before you had the mud you had to jump over a tree about 18 inch diameter fallen across the trail
Dont go on a night trail ride with some of these lads  :thumb2
Got out and back and enjoyed every minute of the rideout :thumb2

That guy stuck in the Mud, is Eddy, a Technical advisor from BMW Motorrad Belgium, and member of the GS-Airheads !

Had a natter with Eddie :D
He is a good lad to know
His bike was/is the best looking g/s I have ever seen taken into such a awful mud and sand and mucky environment - It was just like a brand new one
He also is a very good rider. and said if he gets the chance would like to buy me a beer :clap - I think it was him :augie

Its Eddy Peelman, Technical Advisor at BMW Motorrad Belgium. Look in the "we are all GS-Airheads" section at www.gs-airheads.be , you will find him there. He also has a little Album in the ALBUM section. Mick why don't you sent us a link o your Album, we will post it on the site. The purpose of www.gs-airheads.be is to unite all 2V GSers, so that we can manifest ourselves. From January 2012, the site will be renewed to a Super Site...watch it dedicated to the heritage of 2V GS. Great you are joining the GS-Airheads !

Have replied to your PM Proton, the first time I've used my Flemish in a long time in a message! :rob :thumb2

If I can afford to go I'll probably be a spectator but I can do a guided tour of Waterloo if you fancy learning more about how we twatted the French :D

Hi Danny,

Looks good to me, will arrange the family holiday to miss this weekend :)

There's just the small matter of getting the engine back together, electrics, paint, plastics, wheels, brakes.

Look forward to it :thumb2

Hi there Rob

As part of the UK contingent of the Belgian gs club it would be rude not to attend :thumb2
Well...it starts to look that the UK wing of GS-Airheads might grow bigger then the Belgium GS-Airheads wing...maybe it should become just GS-Airheads, a European club for only 2V GSers from Europe, a strong manifest of equally minded chaps to stop all these other Bikers (Jappos, HDs, etc...) looking down on us with our 2V Kraut machines of which the Grandfathers served in WW2...

Date noted. Just have to get another airhead GS. Perhaps Devon will sell me back the GSPD Classic I stupidly sold to him? If not I will definitely acquire another 2V GS before then.:)
