Anywhere south of Watford?

Picking up a 450 EXC soon and need a good spannerman to get her running properly. 'Bike has been standing for a cpouple of years and was run with stale petrol in and is now running "lumpily" so need to get it serviced and tuned.

Cheers,

Phil

Martin Wittering @ Torque Racing http://www.torqueracing.net/ is good and does the Dakar bikes for Desert Rose.

Tony Woodhams from Sussex SportMotorcycles is excellent - well worth the trip to his workshop outside Crawley. (He doesnt have a website but I can give you his Mobile number if you PM me)

Independent KTM specialist

Hi guys I have recently left a franchised KTM dealer of where I worked for over
Seven years carrying out all forms of service and repair to KTMs.
I am based near Croydon in Surrey I have set up a small workshop where I can service and repair to my standards and not to a factory time.
With full factory training and back up I am now ready to rock and roll.
I am always just a call away for advice or tech knowledge.
You can call me on 07521931496.
Thanks Carl

I can vouch for Martin, top mechanic, really nice bloke to
(and he owes me a fiver for putting this post on)

How about learning to fix your own bike..... as owning a bike like an EXC, it makes perfect sense to know the workings of the bike for when it stops on the trail.
A bike that has been stood for some time may have similar characteristics as a bike that has been submerged in water.
So, drain the fuel system totally and clean carb out. A tip, replace main and pilot jet with new, unless you have ultrasonic cleaner, otherwise you can not clean jets of petrol tarring deposites due to being stood.
You may need to clean out the fuel tap.
Engine oil will need changing with filters changed and screen cleaned.

Dont mess around witht he feller gauges when you do the tappets, Just use the flat edge 1/6 of a turn method.

Makes a fiddly job easy.

I recognise that there KTM. Serviced by Jono at ABW, serviived 2,500 in Morocco ridden offroad (in the style of a drunk octopus wrestling a jelly), serviced again and runs beautifully. Same cannot be said for the rider.
