BMW top box lock

I got a 35l top case from a fellow member but it only has one key. Motorworks sell a blank for about 8 odd quid or a new lock with keys for 13 odd.

Does anyone know if I get a blank can the local key place cut it? Don't see any reason why not.
Or if I were to replace entire lock how easy is it to remove the barrell?

I figure that by the time I buy a blank and get it cut it will be nearly as much as a new key and lock set?

Yeh, right

Don't buy a blank from motorworks. A decent auto locksmith will have the blank in stock for around £2-£3, another £3 to cut it and the jobs a carrot. .
