Having just got back from our annual trip into Europe I'd like to suggest this hotel for anyone fancying a stay in Austria.
Its the Alpenhotel in Oetz.
Its run by a lovely Austrian couple who speak good English, bike friendly (he rides a Multistrada), excellent food and a great location to explore the surrounding passes including Timmlesjoch and Stelvio.
We got a deal for staying 7 nights and paid about £33.00 a night dinner (4 courses) bed and breakfast - astonishing value.
A friend of ours stopped for a few days and paid only a couple of pounds more and was in a double room on his own (no single supplement).
We will definitely return.

Stopped there a couple of years ago on the way to the Dolomites, nice place, and the views in the morning are superb back down the valley.

Did you have a go at any of the ice cream sundaes etc in the restaurants on the main road? Plenty of Germans were attacking the heart attack specials when we were there.

No were managed to side swipe the ice creams, though they do get through some, but we were unable to resist HUGE quantities of excellent Weissbier!
