Tassle hassle

Handlebar tassels are bad enough but dressing up the foot-boards with tassles (usually on the Heritage Softail) is the worst, it looks like a two wheeled road sweeper, combined with tassled leather pannier lids and you've turned a 17 grand motorcycle into a mobile mess.
As a former HOG warrior I saw a lot of this gratuitous tassle vandalism, I had the VRod which was a far superior machine than the air-cooled offerings but amongst the Harley crowd they are as popular as a turd in a swimming pool.

It's a great looking bike until somebody sits on it and then just looks odd. Maybe thats the reason :nenau
 
You were close with the "two wheeled road sweeper" comment.

The tassels are used to sweep up all the bits that fall off :)
 
I hate tassels.... Simple... And chrome...:D

If they where available in the HD "bar and shield" copyright logo then some
of my erstwhile HOG chums male and female would have purchased them along with HD dog bowls and teddy bears, before they painted wolves, eagles, Apache Chiefs or flames on their 25 grand CVO Electra Glide Ultra Classic
