ya shoulda parked at the subway 100yards down on the left and took a pic of the arches

I remember in around 1963, d'army ( I think) put a Bailey bridge over a span of the bridge in Athlone, presumably to allow repairs to the said span below. There were traffic lights as it was only wide enough for one way traffic. The boards bent like bananas so it was some noisy yoke when a car went over it.
