Nothing better to do so I removed and copper greased the exhaust clamp threads. & the cat to silencer clamp bolt. What other threads would benefit from doing this? Apart from all of them!!!!!! Several years hence I don't want to find bolts siezed up.

exhaust nuts at the head.

i use that grey gunky optimol grease from motobins as it is the only stuff that will stay put at such high temps. copperslip would be better than nothing.

watch undoing them first though. very prone to siezing.

copperslip advise

hi, i usually do the 6mm screws around the engine, front ones take the most abuse from the weather, also a usefull tip is to do the 6mm bolts that hold the silencer bracket on, and the three at the back. as this silencer cover is replacable should you damage it. nick

Normally I think the cylinder head exhaust nuts are steel, and so are the studs they screw onto. If you get some brass nuts made, they are much less likely to seize onto the studs.

Thread lock will stop them from rusting and vibrating out!
