Dan the man, is who many wannabe adventurers would believe themselves to be.... he is living the dream on his 650GS.
 
Last I heard, he was in hospital in Bolivia or somewhere in December
 
And Wraithwrider 'd like to wish Dan the man a happy New Year too cos he's real!

Dan that is, err, I'm real too of course!

I stopped subscribing in Sep/Oct as I realised I was paying just to read 1 page (since Barry passed away).

Someone update me. Last thing I remember he had some 50yr old Geordie who told his wife he was going away for 6 months, 3 years ago, sorting his bearings or something.

I'm in er Christ knows, some beach town on Chile's never ending shores, not far from Santiago. Chile is odd - very modern, very European, very different to Bolivia and Peru. Not for me - too expensive, too familiar, but worth seeing just to balance out the dumb prejudices of what 'South American' means. Forget old dears in bowler hats on donkeys, think Miami or Marbella. Never seen so many infnite pools...

Maybe I'll see some of you out here this year?
