I commute into York via the A64 and A1237 (east-bound).
Despite the fact that York CC resurfaced the ring road last month by throwing down a lot of gravel, over the last 2 days they've done it again. I don't know how far it reaches beyond my turn-off.
But the loose stuff accumulates in the middle when you're most likely to be filtering and at the crucial point of a roundabout so please ride with due care :aidan

I noticed that too. Apparently, according to the local folk, the high temperatures the other week caused melting and buggered up the "resurfacing" that they'd just finished meaning they had to repeat the process.

Gotta love it - we have roads that break when it's cold as ice causes potholes and break when it's hot as they melt. I'm sure Goldilocks must have been responsible somewhere along the line :D

Been the same over our area (Whitby). Chucked the stuff down..sun shines, now its knackered...

grit

They were using a salt gritting lorry to throw fine grit and dust on the A65 a couple of weeks ago to cover the tar....
