I have a BMW Navigator Adventure (Garmin Montana) which i added the Africa maps to the EU maps already installed. No problem navigating from UK -> DE -> NL -> BE -> FR -> CH -> FR -> ES until 1/2 way between Sevilla and Algeciras, when the streets disappeared. The planned route still showed and the text instructions were mostly there, but the map was not displayed. 
Later i found if i disabled the Africa maps, Gibraltar and Algeciras would show streets. Enabling the Africa maps caused the streets to disappear.
It's a PITA to complete my planning without enabling both maps on the device.
