Looks aint' everything, underslung shock and caliper:blast

I'll stick to gears ta, nowt like pinging clutch for instant excitement,

Me too for control but there's plenty who like a Rekluse clutch with both brake levers on the bars:beerjug:

Using the scooter running gear has made for a long wheelbase which is getting on for making it a hill climb bike. I don't think it'd be too handy on the nadgery stuff.

Rekluse clutches are for riders with poor control,:hide one of my pals had one fitted to a new KTM 350, I took an instant dislike to it as it seemed to loose the directness of the drive, I like using and abusing a clutch on a proper off road machine!

............and it doesn't look too light either.

Nice to see some different ideas though :)

Yamaha concept bike, based on a 500cc TMax with CVT transmission and thus no gears, just 2 brake controls on the handlebars

Nope.

I don't do off-road ...

... but I'm taking the junior hacksaw to my T-Max :thumb2

That swing arm looks very short as well for an off-roader.

Caliper easy to fix, under-slung shock not quite so easy.
