Advice needed re inverters

Morning Chaps & Chapess's,

a mate of mine uses an inverter on his bike to charge camera batteries, mobile phones, laptops etc & I fancy one myself.

Again it's for the same type of kit, rather than heavy current items and I'd appreciate anyones recommendations, noting that size is of importance (the smaller the better). I'm doing a bit of a tour this year which will involve plenty of free camping and lots of photo's, so I reckon it's a good option.

Thoughts/suppliers/do & don't appreciated.

Inverters

Usually come in 50w 150 w & 300 w capacities, 150 w is fine for what you need and not too big.

DVD in a Car with an X Box

Yes I'm afraid I do drive a car, with the Family.

I have just come out of the company car scheme and bought myself a Mondeo Ghia TDCI Estate, with DVD, and my son's hot on playing his Xbox in the car, whilst the Daughter can watch the DVD

So what invertor do I need to run the X Box??.

Thanks for your help.

Gary.

Check out the current consumption on the electrical data label on the device, it will say X watts or maybe X amps.

1 Amp at 230 volts = 230watts, 0.5 amps = 120watts.

I imagine a small device like an X box will be less than 150 watts, more like 30 watts, so a 150 will do the job fine.

Hi Jimb,

thanks for your advice.

Went to Maplins yesterday and got a 150w model for £19.99.

Cheers
