Just sitting down to plan Sept 14 , a number of us are planning a stay in Castellane for a few nights :beerjug: whilst doing the Route de grande alps. Its a few years since we were in the Alps having been to Spain and Portugal but we fancy a change.
Any recommendations for hotels would be appreciated before I start on the Logis book. Thanks in advance :thumb

A few in my report from 2011:

Loads to choose from in the region, if in a small group I would lean towards just finding somewhere nice as I go along.

You can probably ditch the Logis book too, the website is pretty handy these days, we only stayed at one Logis at the south end of the Petite St Bernard, it was very good value and nice to stay at a family run Hotel with local food / drink.

Auberge du lac
le lac de sainte croix

well worth a stay, but you need to like cats!

Grand hotel in Barcelonnete is good, there is off road secure parking also. There's quite a few logis hotels in the town too. Plenty of decent restaurants and bars :)
