Hi all,
At the risk of this having been asked before, what is the spec of a R1200S ?
I ask because it's crossed my mind to upgrade my 2004 1200GS with some of the 1200S 'go faster' goodies.
Does anyone know if the engine parts, cylinder, cams, throttle bodies etc etc are interchangeable ?
Presumeably I would need the 1200S ECU as well as some of the other bits.
Any thoughts ?

Give NickV a pm. You can find his thread in the Hexhead section. He has a R1200S engine and ECU in his GS. Had some problems with the traction but got it sorted with a different profile rear tyre.

In short the R1200S heads and pistons are different. Apparently the R1200S heads is a bit of a rarity so those who tune the engine gets hold of GS or RT heads and modify to suit the R1200S. Why? They still race the R1200S and HP2 Sport in Europe and do need a source of spares. More info here

You will be better off by just getting a PC with a remap and exhaust to suit. Less £ and less headache.
