Ian Ritchie and his cronies at the 'Friends of the Ridgeway' had a lot to do with restricting the vehicular use of large sections of it

thank you, that filled my lunch hour very nicely
I spent 5 days trail riding in Wiltshire last August - still plenty to explore & I was shocked to see most byways signposted! - they want folk to use them!
