I have small lamps with thin two thin wires coming out of them how do I wire them up..
As stated. If the lamps are grounded, one of the wires will melt and go up in smoke. This is to tell you you have them connected the wrong way round.Attach one wire to a positive and the other to a negative, should work
You need the facts to give valid answers

If they are not grounded and are LEDs then if you connect the wrong way round, no smoke, but scrap.
Remember that all electrical components work on the principle of magic smoke. Once the smoke is allowed to escape from the component it will never work again.
Hope this helps.
The pedant in me strikes again. Not sure this is right.
Normal bulbs can be connected up either way and work, no smoke
Led will either work or not in the main, again, you won't damage them unless you fire too much power through them.

If the lamps are grounded in the holder, one of the two wires coming out is also connected to ground within the fitting, and wiring this to 12v+ on any motorcycle built since the fall of the british motorcycle industry will result in the escape of the magic smoke.

And the leds?
